Shop Here First and Save the Planet!
Nothing that is still usable to someone should be discarded. That is the mission of Larry Fisher and Stephanie Koop, who recently co-founded Community Mercantile with the intent to capture more reusable things from the flow of items to the landfill. They want to get them into the hands of people who want and need them - at a very low price. With Community Mercantile’s "reuse, repurpose, and repair” goal, everyone can easily shop sustainably, reduce waste, save money and learn more about managing individual resources and reducing their environmental impact. Community Mercantile is more than just a thrift store. In the near future, workshops will be offered on tool use and repair, appliance maintenance and repair, repurposing and upcycling discarded items into workbenches, tables, wheelbarrows, works of art and more. When you maintain and fix what you have rather than buy new, you contribute less to the landfill thereby reducing pollution. A tool lending library is also coming soon. For those unable to move larger items, pick up and delivery is available for a small fee.
Location
Shoppers can purchase goods at their inviting warehouse location at:
